Fire breaks out at Chattogram shoe factory

A fire broke out at a footwear accessories factory adjacent to Textiles intersection under the port city’s Bayezid Bostami Police Station on Friday.

The incident was reported from second floor of a six-storey building of the factory ‘Rong Da International Enterprise Ltd’ around 4:00pm, according to local fire officials.

Firefighter Shibli Sadiq of Fire Service and Civil Defence Bayezid Station said 12 firefighting units from Bayezid, Agrabad and Chandanpura stations are working on dousing the blaze.

No casualties were reported. However, authorities are yet to ascertain the extent of damages, he added.
