The Bangladesh Railway (BR) is going to launch an intercity train – Burimari Express – on the route between Dhaka and Burimari in Lalmonirhat on 12 March.
BR Director General Md Quamrul Ahsan came up with the information while attending a workshop held at Rail Bhaban in the capital on Saturday.
Besides, he said, three pairs of intercity trains on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route and a commuter train on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar route will start their journey by June this year.
In addition, commuter trains on Dhaka-Narsingdi and Bhanga-Dhaka routes will be launched as early as possible, Quamrul added.
