REHAB new president pledges to build transparent housing industry

Staff Reporter:

Md Wahiduzzaman, president of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), has pledged that the newly elected committee will address all sorts of problems to ensure transparency in the housing sector.

“The real estate sector contributes significantly to the national economy, but businessmen in the sector are currently facing various challenges. Together with the newly elected committee members, I will strive to resolve these issues,” he said.

Wahiduzzaman made these remarks while assuming office through a programme held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.

The newly elected office bearers also assumed their roles from REHAB administrator Jannatul Ferdous, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, during the event.

In his instant reaction after taking charge, he said the REHAB gets a new board after a long period and the new committee will address the challenges in the housing business.

“We will be always hatching efforts to uphold the image of REHAB, safeguarding the interests of traders in this sector. We need policy support from the government to achieve the goal,” he said.

Wahiduzzaman, also managing director of Japan Garden City Ltd, committed to working honestly to build a transparent business sector in the country.

“The election has been held in a free, fair and participatory manner,” he said and thanked the commerce ministry for arranging such polls in a fair manner.
