The Country Editors’ Forum, constituted comprising the National Desk In-Charges of newspapers, television and online newsportals of the country, has elected new leaders to hold the reins for the next two years.
Sakhawat Hossain of Nagrik Television has been elected as President while Asif Ahsanul of Jamuna Television as General Secretary.
The committee was formed after the organisation’s family day and general meeting at a resort in Aminbazar area of Savar last Tuesday.
Monira Rumi of NTV and Syed Muinul Haque of Ajker Patrika have been elected as Vice-Presidents.
Mahabur Alam of Dhaka Post and Naeemul Karim of Jugantor have been made Joint General Secretary.
Anwar Hossain of Jago News has been elected as Organising Secretary while Rakib Khan of Protidiner Bangladesh has been given the responsibility of Finance Secretary and Sajib Sadiq of Maasranga Television has been re-assigned to the post of Office Secretary.
Apart from this, News24’s Suman Talukder has been made Publicity Affairs Secretary, RTV’s Russel Ahmed has been made Cultural Affairs Secretary and Somoy Television’s Kamal Shahriar has been made Training Affairs Secretary.
Besides, nine people have been made Executive Members in the 21-member committee.
