Declaration of price hike of sugar withdrawn

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has withdrawn its decision to increase the sugar price one day after the declaration.

The TCB came up with the decision to sell sugar at Tk 70 per kg on Thursday morning.

Earlier on Wednesday (6 March), the TCB fixed per kg sugar price at Tk 100 from Tk 70.

TCB spokesperson Humayun Kabir informed the media that the previous price of sugar had been reinstated instead of the newly hiked price. And customers will be able to purchase sugar at Tk 70 per kg.
