Bailey Rd fire tragedy
Court sends 4 men to jail

A Dhaka court yesterday sent four people to jail in a case lodged over deadly blaze that engulfed a build-ing named Green Cozy Cottage in the capital’s Bailey Road area on February 29, killing 46 people and injuring several others.
The four accused are- Green Cozy Cottage building manager Hamidul Haq Bipul, Kacchi Bhai Bailey Road branch manager Jain Uddin Jisan and two owners of Cha Chumuk, Anwarul Haque and SHafikur Rahman Rimon.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tahmina Haque passed the order as police produced them before the court after the end of their two-day remand in the case.
Forty-six people including eight children were killed and several others got injured in the deadly infer-no. Bodies of 40 have so far been handed over to their families.
