A massive fire erupted in a seven-storey commercial building housing the Kacchi Bhai restaurant at Bailey Road in the capital on Thursday night.
In a message sent to the media, the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters said that they received the news of the fire at Kachchi Bhai Restaurant at 9:50pm on Thursday and rushed to the spot with eight units of firefighters at 9:56pm.
Later, four more units joined them, Warehouse Inspector of FSCD headquarters media cell Anwarul Islam told newsmen.
Initially, the fire’s cause and the damage’s extent could not be specified. No news of casualties was confirmed till filing this report at 11:25pm. A total of 15 people have been rescued alive, according to the FSCD officials.
Apart from the Kacchi Bhai restaurant on its second floor, the seven-storey building named Green Cozy Cottage Shopping Mall also houses different brand shops and restaurants.
