Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Saber Hossain Chowdhury said that Bangladesh and the Islamic Republic of Iran are trusted friends and important partners, and the friendship between the countries will grow further in the coming days through increased and meaningful engagements in different sectors on Thursday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government is committed to working together with all the friendly Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, so that the countries can benefit from mutual collaboration and learning, he said.
The minister said this while addressing a function arranged for celebrating the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution (National Day) of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursday evening at a hotel in the Gulshan area of the capital, as the chief guest said in a media release from the ministry.
He said that besides collaboration at the government level, the private sectors of the two countries should become more proactive in exploring synergies for mutual benefit.
‘’I avail of this opportunity to extend our standing invitation to the government, business persons, and entrepreneurs from Iran to visit Bangladesh to see for themselves and seize the prevailing business climate, especially the long-term special facilities offered to foreign investments, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, power and energy, agro-based business, RMG, tourism, and hospitality,’’ he said.
The Ambassador of Iran, Mansour Chavoshi, congratulated the newly formed government.
He also highlighted the world leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with Bangladesh.
The Minister also thanked representatives of different countries, dignitaries, and government officials present on the occasion.
