JS reserved women seats
AL sells 810 nomination forms on 1st day

Awami League (AL) yesterday sold 810 nomination forms on the first day for reserved seats for women in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament).
The party earned Taka 4.05 crore by selling the nomination forms on the first day.
The nomination form selling began at the AL Bangabandhu Avenue central office in the capital at 10 am yesterday. The aspirants collected nomination forms for Taka 50,000 each till 4 pm.
AL deputy office secretary Sayem Khan briefed reporters at 4:30 pm after the selling of the nomination forms.
He said a total of 810 forms were sold on the first day.
Among those, he said, 275 nomination forms were sold to aspirants from Dhaka Division, while 62 forms to Mymensingh Division, 149 forms to Chattogram Division, 26 forms to Sylhet Division, 56 forms to Barishal Division, 77 forms to Khulna Division, 75 forms to Rangpur Division and 90 forms to Rajshahi Division.
The AL nomination forms can be collected and submitted till 4 pm of next Thursday (February 8). The forms can be collected and submitted from 10 am to 4 pm daily.
There are 50 seats reserved for women in the House.
