4 remanded over gang rape of housewife at JU

A Dhaka court yesterday placed four people including a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League Jahang-irnagar University unit on three-day remand for gang raping a housewife after confining her husband at the varsity campus.
The four accused are- Chhatra League leader Mostafijur Rahman, his associates Sabbir Hasan, Sagar Siddique and Hasanuzzaman.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order as police produced the four before the court and pleaded to place them on seven-day remand.
The gruesome incident took place at around 9.30 pm on Tuesday, as they confined victim’s husband at varsity’s Mir Mosharraf Hall and raped the victim nearby bush.
