The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given permission to the Dhaka South City Awami League (AL) to hold a rally titled ‘Peace and Democracy’ on Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday (27 January) under 22 conditions.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Operations) of DMP Md Abu Yusuf confirmed it on Thursday.
According to the DMP, in view of the application made on 22 January by Dhaka South City AL, permission was given under 22 conditions for the rally titled ‘Peace and Democracy’ which is scheduled to be held on Saturday (27 January) at 3:00 pm on Bangabandhu Avenue.
Earlier on Tuesday night (23 January), Dhaka South City AL Office Secretary Riaz Uddin said in a press release that South City AL will hold the rally where AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader will be present as the chief guest.
Dhaka South City AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi will chair the rally, while the unit General Secretary Humayun Kabir will conduct it, and AL central leaders will address the rally, said the press release.
