‘Expat workers, families deserve smart banking services’

Staff Reporter:

State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury said smart banking services should be provided to expatriate workers and their family members as they deserve this.

“Being motivated by the spirit of patriotism, the officials of Probashi Kallyan Bank have to serve the expatriate workers and their family members. They really deserve this,” the state minister said while addressing a view exchange programme with the officials of Probashi Kallyan Bank at the meeting room of the ministry in the capital.

He said Bangabandhu not only fought for freedom throughout his life but also worked to enrich the economy of the newly independent country.

“Bangabandhu put the financial sector on a solid foundation for economic freedom. With the hand of his daughter, Bangladesh is moving towards prosperity today,” Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury added.

Reminding the bank officials that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established Probashi Kallyan Bank with many dreams, he said, “All of us should be motivated by patriotism to provide smart banking services to the expatriate workers and their families.”

Addressing the programme as a special guest, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Md Ruhul Amin said Bangabandhu always thought about people.

“Bangabandhu worked for the improvement of the socio-economic condition of the poor and distressed people. If we fulfill the responsibility assigned to us properly and provide services, then the spirit of Bangabandhu will be implemented,” he said.

The programme was chaired by Probashi Kallyan Bank Managing Director Md Mujibur Rahman.
