Bandarban Correspondent:
Police on Wednesday arrested a rape accused named Chashai Pru Marma from Ward No. 4 Bangchari Para area of Bandarban Sadar upazila.
According to locals, the rape victim’s father is dead and mother is mentally retarded. Accused Chashai Pru Marma had been raping her in turn for three to four months as they are from same neighborhood. Later, when the girl’s elder brother was informed about the matter, he complained to Rowangchari police station and police arrested her from Bangchari area on Wednesday afternoon.
Rawangchari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Abul Kalam confirmed the matter and said that a person named Chashai Pru Marma has been arrested on rape charge. Legal process is ongoing, he said.
