Joypurhat: A 41-year-old father, who sustained severe injuries in an attack allegedly by his son over family feud in Joypurhat’s Kalai upazila last Monday, died at a Bogura hospital on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Alim, hailing from Anipukur village under the upazila.
The deceased’s family and police said accused son Rizvi Ahmed hit on his father’s head with an axe dur-ing an altercation, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday, said Kalai Police Station’s officer in charge (OC) Wasim Al Bari quoting physicians.
The victim’s other son Babul Fakir filed a case accusing Rizvi and his wife with the police station, he said.
The accused fled the village shortly after the incident, the OC said, adding that legal actions will be tak-en in this regard.
