Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir has asked police personnel to provide better services to the public through good behaviour.
He said this while visiting the River Police Headquarters in the capital on Thursday.
The IGP highly praised the active presence and dedicated service of the River Police in ensuring the safety of passengers travelling by waterways during Eid-ul-Azha.
He also commended the River Police for their role in maintaining overall security on the country’s river routes, protecting aquatic resources, conserving hilsa and other fishery resources, and combating piracy.
The IGP provided policy guidance on further enhancing the capabilities of the River Police through the use of technology and ensuring better public services.
