Private hospitals to reserve 10% beds for free dengue treatment: Minister

Staff Reporter:

The government has instructed private hospitals across the country to provide free treatment to dengue patients in at least 10% of their beds.

The dengue patients in these beds will not have to pay for accommodation and doctor fees and will only bear expenses for medicines and meal, said Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain at a briefing at his office on Tuesday.

Private hospitals have also been urged to waive diagnostic fees for dengue patients by maximum 80%, he said.
