7 die from measles, symptoms in 24 hours

One person died from measles and six others from suspected measles in the 24 hours till Friday morning.

During 8am Thursday-8am Friday, 1,494 others were hospitalised with the viral disease, including 282 confirmed measles cases, said the Directorate General of Health Services.

Among the suspected measles deaths, two were reported in Dhaka division, three in Sylhet division and one in Khulna division. The death from confirmed measles case was reported in Barishal division.

Since 15 March, the total death toll has hit 343, the large majority of whom are children.
