Prisoner dies in Dhaka Central Jail

A prisoner at the Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, died this morning after falling ill.

The deceased, identified as Mamunur Rashid (46) became unwell at around 7:50 am inside the jail.

According to prison authorities, Mamunur was immediately rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s emergency department at 9:30 am for treatment. Upon arrival, the on duty doctor declared him dead after conducting necessary examinations.

The body has been transferred kept at DMCH morgue for an autopsy, said Inscpector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.
