Visiting Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck yesterday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in city’s Dhanmondi-32.
Bangabandhu’s youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana and granddaughter and South East Asian regional di-rector for the World Health Organization Saima Wazed Putul received the Bhutanese king when he reached there.
After laying the wreath, the Bhutan King stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu.
Later, he signed the visitor’s book at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi-32 here.
The Bhutanese King went around the rooms of the museum.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat and Curator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum Md Nazrul Islam Khan were present.
