The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Police has arrested a member of an organized online fraud gang that embezzled huge amounts of money by offering online jobs from the city’s Khilkhet Police Sta-tion area on Monday night.
The arrested was identified as Moazzem Hossain, 26, son of Md. Zakir Hossain from Anondobazar village under Halisahar Police Station of Chattogram district
Acting on a tip-off, a team of ATU conducted drives in the city’s Khilkhet Police Station area and arrested him around 8:15 on Monday, Superintendent of Police (SP) of ATU Media and Awareness wing Barrister Mahfuzul Alam Rasel told yesterday.
Legal action has been taken against him, he added.
