New schedule for metro rail in Ramadan

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has introduced a new schedule for metro rail in the upcoming Ramadan.
There will be no change in metro rail timings for the first 15 days of Ramadan. However, in the last 15 days of Ramadan, the train’s operating time will increase by one hour from both ends.
The last metro train will leave Uttara at 9:20pm in the last 15 days of Ramadan. The last train from Motijheel will go to Uttara at 9:40pm.
DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique made the announcement at a press conference at the DMTCL conference room in the city’s Eskaton area on Sunday, an official release said.
At present the last metro train from Uttara to Motijheel leaves at 8pm, while the last one from Motijheel to Uttara leaves at 8:40pm.
According to the metro rail authorities, trains will leave every eight minutes, instead of 10 minutes, from 2:00pm from the first Ramadan.
Siddique said commuters can carry 250ml of water bottles before and after Iftar on metro rail but in that case, the water bottle should be dumped into designated bins.
He also said that no food would be allowed inside the trains.
According to the new timing, till 15th Ramadan, metro trains from Uttara North to Motijheel would be operated every 10 minutes from 7:10am to 7:30am, every eight minutes from 7:31am to 11:36am, every 12 minutes from 11:37am to 2:00pm, and every eight minutes from 2:01pm to 8:00pm.
Trains from Motijheel to Uttara North will be available every 10 minutes from 7:30am to 8:00am, every eight minutes from 8:01am to 12:08pm, every 12 minutes from 12:09pm to 2:40pm, and every eight minutes from 2:41pm to 8:40pm.
Meanwhile, metro rail services will be closed on the Eid day.
