Road mishaps kill 2,463 in 2016

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday told Parliament that different organiza-tions come up with exaggerated statistics over casualties in the country's road accidents, which do not match the reality.
"According to police statistics, 2,463 people were killed and 2,134 injured in 2,566 road accidents in 2016," the minister said replying to a written question from Awami League MP M Abdul Latif (Chittagong-11).
