City Group to provide Tk 2.20 cr for archery

The City Group, under its five-year "Teer Go For Gold" project, announced a budget of Tk 2.20 crore for the term of 2nd year (2018-2019), Tk 40 lakh higher than previous year, to improve standard country's Archery in a such level enabling them to battle for the Olympics gold medal.
One of country's leading business house City Group, the manufacturer of Teer Soybean Oil, signed five-year contract (renewable in every year) with Bangladesh Archery Federation ( BAF) on October 23 in 2017 and have alreday spend Tk 1.80 crore in the first year (2018-19).
Executive Director (Sales and Marketing) of the City Group Shoeb Mohammad Asaduzzaman announced their Archery budget for the 2nd year (2018-19) during a press conference at the Dutch Bangladesh Auditorium of BOA on Saturday and explained the reasons behind increasing the budget.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Archery Federation Kazi Rajibuddin Ahmed Chapal, vice presidents Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiqui and Anisur Rahman Dipu, Head Coach of Archery Martin Fedrick were also present in the day's press conference.
Shoeb said, "We have earlier set eight targets to evaluate the performances and improvement of the local arch-ers in the last year and they have achieved five targets during year that was a sign of improvement".
He also announced a scholarship of Tk 5,000 for per month for the 10 leading archers of the country and handed over the amount of the first month at the function.
The City Group will also sponsor the National Youth Acrhery Championship in November 2018, National Ar-chery Championship in December 2018, Asia Cup Stage-1 in Thailand in January 2019, Archery World Cup Stage-1 in China in May 2019, and World Archery Championship in Netherland in June 2019.
Besides, City Group will provide salary of coaching staffs, renovation of archery training centre in Tongi, training, education and performance bonus for the outstanding archers.
