Jatiya Party (JaPa) Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu yesterday said their party will take part in the Januray 7 general election by fielding candidates in 283 constituencies of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).
Noting that JP did not reach any consensus over seat sharing, he said: “No alliance has been made. Seats have not been compromised. However, there are some strategies in some seats.”
He said these during a press briefing at party chairman’s office in the city’s Banani.
Yesterday was the last day of withdrawing nomination papers.
Earlier around 1 pm, Chunnu said that whether JP is in polls or not would be informed in the afternoon. Later, the announcement of contesting in 283 seats came.
