Jubo League is one of the strongest associate organisations of Awami League (AL) as leaders and activists of the youth wing of the AL are contributing a lot for new leadership of the party, said a former bureaucrat.
Addressing a meeting in Gopalganj as chief guest on Saturday, former senior secretary Shahid Ullah Khandaker, who is entrusted with implementing development projects of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s constituency — Gopalganj-3, said that Jubo League is a strong wing of Awami League which can’t be compared to other political organisation.
Jubo League’s Kotalipara unit organised the meeting marking 51st founding anniversary of the organisation.
“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s nephew Shaheed Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni founded this organisation on this day in 1972. Awami League and its allied organisations will never match any organisation,” Shahid Ullah Khandaker said.
The former secretary said that the schedule for the upcoming parliamentary elections will be announced soon.
“We all have to work together for the Awami League after the announcement of the schedule of the general election so that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can come to power and continue the development activities of the country after winning the general election under the leadership of Awami League,” he said.
Prior to the meeting, Shahid Ullah Khandaker paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with the party leaders and activists.
AL Kotalipara upazila unit president Bhabendra Nath Biswas, general secretary Ainal Hossain Sheikh, joint general secretaries Ohidul Islam, Kamal Hossain Sheikh, Anisuzzaman Khan Milan, organising secretary Matiar Rahman Hazra and Jubo League upazila unit general secretary Babul Hazra spoke on the occasion.
