The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday said 64 buses were set on fire from 28 October to 9 November in the capital.
As many as 64 cases were filed in this connection, the DMP said.
Some 12 people were apprehended for their involvement in arson attacks and petrol, gunpowder, matches, cotton, and ragged clothes were seized from their possession, it added.
On 28 October, BNP in the capital held a rally, which was marked with violence. Apart from hartal, BNP along with other opposition parties enforced nationwide blockades in three phases, which witnessed arson attacks on buses and other vehicles.
