127 vehicles torched in 13 days

At least 127 vehicles, mostly buses, were torched during the BNP-Jamaat grand rally, hartal, and blockades across the country from 28 October to 9 November.

Of the vehicles, 45 were torched from 28 October to 29 October while 34 vehicles were set on fire from 31 October to 2 November.

Some 12 vehicles were torched from 4 October to 6:30am on 5 November, 21 vehicles from 6:31am on 5 November to 6 November and 15 vehicles from 8 Novemberto 9 November, according to the data of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).

In one of the incidents at Demra in the capital, Mohammad Nazim, 18, a helper of a bus of ‘Asim Paribahan’, was killed inside the bus parked at Daila in Demra early on October 29.
Miscreants torched the bus when the helper and the driver were sleeping inside the bus.

Nazim died on the spot while his driver sustained injuries, but fortunately he survived.
