Information and Broadcasting Minister Mohammad Hasan Mahmud on Friday said no dialogue can be held with the “terrorist party” BNP.
“What kind of political party are they? BNP is nothing but a terrorist organisation now,” he told the media after paying homage to the national leaders at Banani graveyard in the capital, marking Jail Killing Day.
Hasan said, “The government does not hold any election rather the Election Commission does it. The government only plays the role of facilitator here.
“If the Election Commission calls for dialogue, we will go. And beyond that, there can be a dialogue among political parties. But, no dialogue can be held with terrorists and their organisation.”
The minister said the heinous terrorist activities, being committed by BNP during hartal and blockade, are worse than those of thieves and robbers. “In fact, they [BNP] have become the enemy of the people.”
