Arrest warrant issued against Joy

Staff Reporter:

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued arrest warrants against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, in connection with July–August genocide case.

The warrants were formally issued on Thursday afternoon, following the submission of an investigative report regarding Joy.

In the same case, the tribunal accepted charges against former State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and directed his appearance on 10 December.

Additionally, charges were filed against former Private Industry and Investment Adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Salman F Rahman and former Law Minister Anisul Huq, with both ordered to appear before the tribunal on 10 December.
