Dr Zahid’s source for Khaleda’s health update urged

Staff Reporter:

BNP yesterday requested to the media not to use any source other than the statement from her personal physician and party Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain for any information regarding the health condition of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
BNP media cell member Shayrul kabir Khan made the appeal yesterday afternoon.
Shayrul Kabir Khan said, “We request the media not to use any other source or statement from anyone other than the official statement from Begum Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and BNP Standing Com-mittee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, regarding any information about her health condition.”
He added that any situation or decision regarding the BNP Chairperson’s health would be immediately announced by the Medical Board.
Earlier, BNP Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan stated that Khaleda Zia’s condition had become “very critical,” an escalation he reported began on Sunday night.
Azam made this statement while briefing the media on Khaleda Zia’s physical condition in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Following this, various confusing and misleading information about Begum Khaleda Zia’s health situa-tion began to spread in the media.
In response, the BNP Media Cell announced that the Medical Board or her personal physician Dr AZM Zahed Hossain would provide the accurate information regarding the BNP Chairperson’s health.
