Pak PM wishes recovery of ailing Khaleda Zia

Staff Reporter:

Pakistan’s top leadership sent floral greetings to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office on Thursday evening, wishing a quick recovery for the former prime minister.

Around 6pm, a team of officials from the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka visited the chairperson’s office and handed over two bouquets on behalf of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, according to the BNP media cell.

The bouquets were received by Khaleda Zia’s Personal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan was also present during the handover.

Party sources said the gesture was made officially by the Pakistan government, expressing prayers and good wishes for Khaleda Zia’s quick recovery and well-being.

Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple health complications, including heart problems, liver and kidney issues, diabetes, lung problems, arthritis, and eye-related illnesses.

She also has a permanent pacemaker and previously underwent stenting for her heart.

Earlier in the day, Khaleda Zia shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from her cabin at Evercare Hospital, Shairul Kabir Khan said.
