Man shot killed in Dhaka City

A 39-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Maddhya Badda area of the capital early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mamun Shikdar, son of Abdul Malek Shikdar of Dumki upazila in Patuakhali district.
Quoting local people, Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station, said a group of armed miscreants opened fire on Mamun on the ground floor of a building in Commissioner alley early this Wednesday morning, leaving him dead on the spot.
Mamun used to work as a day labourer in the area.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College and hospital morgue for autopsy.
Efforts are on to arrest the attackers, said police.
