Chattogram: Karnaphuli Paper Mills Limited (KPM), located in Chandraghona, Kaptai, has been as-signed to supply 914.009 metric tons of paper for printing ballots for the upcoming parliamentary elec-tions slated for February 2026.
So far, 178.009 metric tons of paper have already been distributed, while the remaining 736 metric tons will be produced in phases and supplied by January 2026.
KPM Managing Director Mohammad Shahid Ullah confirmed the matter to journalists this morning, saying that a total of 914.009 metric tons of paper including colored varieties such as green, pink, azure-leaved and brown sulphate paper has been ordered by the Election Commission for the current 2025-2026 financial year.
The market value of the order is approximately Tk 11.11 crore.
Shahid Ullah added KPM’s production target for the 2025-2026 fiscal year is 3,500 metric tons of paper, valued between Tk 40 crore and Tk 45 crore. As of October 9 this year, the mill has already produced 1,093 metric tons.
