CA calls political leaders to resist chaos, ill efforts

Staff Reporter:

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus yesterday said the defeated forces are out to halt the election by creating chaos, so all anti-fascist forces must remain united to resist their ill efforts.
“If all the forces of the uprising cannot hold a fair election together, this great opportunity of us will be lost,” he said at a meeting with top leaders of different political parties at his official residence Jamuna in Dhaka.
The Chief Adviser said the defeated forces are creating various kinds of chaos whenever they get the opportunity to do so.
By doing this, they are seriously disrupting the country’s usual progress, he added.
“Whenever we are moving forward with preparations for the elections, various conspiracies are coming to us.
“But the reality is that no plot can hinder the democratic progress. Because the unity of all democratic forces on the issue of fascism is clear,” Prof Yunus said.
He sought cooperation of all political parties to organize fair elections.
The political leaders, who were present at the meeting, assured the Chief Adviser of providing all-out cooperation to this end.
Aminul Haque Tipu Biswas from Jatiya Gonofront, Mustafa Jamal Haider from the 12-party alliance, Maulana Abdul Majed Athari of Nejam-e-Islam Party, Maulana Yusuf Ashraf from Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Fariduzzaman Farhad from National People’s Party, Dr. Mushtaq Hossain of Bangladesh Jasad, Nationalist Democratic Movement’s Bobby Hajjaj, Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi from Islami Oikya Jote, Rafiqul Islam Bablu from Bhashani Janashakti Party, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran of Bangladesh Labor Party, Masud Rana from Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) and Manjurul Islam Afendi from Ja-miat Ulema-e-Islam were present at the meeting.
At the onset of the meeting, one minute’s silence was observed in memory of those who died in the re-cent jet crash into Milestone School and College in the city and doa was offered seeking eternal peace of their departed souls.
