No room for new dictatorship in this soil: Nahid

Bhola: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam yesterday said they have removed the “auto-cratic” Sheikh Hasina’s regime and there will be no room for new dictatorship in this Bengal soil.
“We will build a discrimination free, justice-based Bangladesh where there will be no room for extor-tion, rape and looting,” he told a street rally at the end of the July March programme of NCP at Press Club premises in the town.
Nahid said Bhola is the town of gas and this gas goes to different districts of the country but the people of Bhola have been deprived of gas.
“This is a discrimination against the people of Bhola,” he said.
Referring to the 57 martyrs of Bhola, in the July Mass Uprising, Nahid said the highest number of mar-tyrs in the July Uprising was in Bhola.
“So yesterday we have come to embrace the people of Bhola. There will be no more discrimination against the people of Bhola. The NCP will be by your side,” he said.
Nahid said the standard of healthcare in Bhola is so bad as well as communication system is also back-ward.
He pledged that Bhola will be a beautiful and prosperous district.
NCP’s Bhola district convener Mehedi Hasan Sharif chaired the event which was moderated by Mak-sudur Rahman.
Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zara, Joint Member Secretary Mashiur Rahman, Joint Chief Organizer Dr. Mahmuda Akhter Mitu, Joint Chief Co-ordinator Arifur Rahman Tuhin also spoke.
Earlier at 2 pm, NCP central and district leaders started the march from Kalinath Roy’s Bazar area in Bhola town and ended it at the premises of Press Club here.
