The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday banned all kinds of gatherings at and around nine significant judicial sites citing a “changed security situation.”
The ban will stay effective for an indefinite period, said a public notification issued by the DMP media cell.
The restrictions apply to gatherings, rallies, processions, marches at the chief justice’s residence, judges’ building, judges’ complex, Supreme Court Main Gate, Supreme Court Mazar Gate, Supreme Court Mosque Gate, International Crimes Tribunal-1 entry gate, International Crimes Tribunal-2 entry gate, and the Judicial Administrative Training Institute.
In the notification, the police also asked citizens to avoid blocking roads every now and then under the pretext of securing demands, and lodging protests.
