CA to visit Ctgm hometown today

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will visit his hometown Chattogram today for the first time since assuming office as head of the interim government.
During the daylong visit, he is scheduled to attend several official programs, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said.
Besides, Prof. Yunus will attend the fifth convocation of Chittagong University (CU) as the chief guest.
He is expected to visit his ancestral home in Bathua village under Shikarpur Union in Hathazari Upazila in Chattogram.
Upon arrival in Chattogram, the Chief Adviser will first visit Chittagong Port and attend a meeting at the NCT-5 premises. He will exchange views with senior port and shipping officials, representatives of port users’ organizations, and leaders of trade bodies there.
Later, he will proceed to the Chattogram Circuit House, where he will unveil the foundation stone of the Kalurghat Bridge over the Karnaphuli River. The long-anticipated bridge is expected to greatly benefit residents on the river’s southern bank, including those in Boalkhali and Patiya upazilas.
Officials will also brief the Chief Adviser on key urban challenges, including waterlogging in Chatto-gram City and traffic congestion on Hathazari Road from the Oxygen Intersection.
In addition, Prof Yunus will hand over land documents for the Chattogram National Heart Foundation to the concerned authorities.
