Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof has called on Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Ambassador Jashim Uddin to strengthen bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the constructive discussion and the successful conclusion of the sixth round of Foreign Secretary Level Bilateral Consultations between Bangladesh and Pakistan held in Dhaka on 17 April.
They also highlighted it as a positive step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation, reports a press release on Monday.
The importance of the continued follow-up and further work by the relevant authorities from both sides on the areas and issues discussed during the Foreign Secretary Level Bilateral Consultations was emphasised.
The Pakistan High Commissioner briefed the foreign secretary about the regional issues during the meeting.
He also apprised the foreign secretary of the ongoing visit of high level business delegation from Pakistan to Bangladesh focused on specific products and the Bangladesh-Pakistan Business Forum which is being held in Dhaka.
Both sides expressed hope that the visit of the deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Pakistan to Bangladesh would be taking place at a mutually convenient time.
