Preparations for the Borshoboron Ananda Shobhajatra are almost completed, it said.
Visiting the Fine Arts Faculty premises, artists, painters and craft makers were seen giving final touches on their works.
This year’s theme is “Noboborsher Oikotan – Fascibader Oboshan” or “Symphony of New Year – End of Fascism.”
However, the university authorities have issued a set of restrictions to be followed on this occa-sion.
Only Nilkhet and Palashi entries will remain open to public aspiring to participate in the procession on the campus. They have been requested to carry their identity cards and maintain discipline while joining the procession.
Only the masks manufactured by the Fine Arts faculty will be allowed to display in the procession.
The DU authorities also banned playing and selling Bhubhujela flutes on the campus.
The entrances of Suhrawardy Udyan adjacent to Raju Memorial Sculpture, Chobirhat and Ramna Kali Temple will remain closed.
After 5:00pm today, none will be allowed to enter the campus but can only exit.
Only vehicles with university stickers will be allowed to enter the campus after 7:00pm yesterday.
DU teachers, students, officers and employees living on the campus are requested to use the Nilkhet and Palashi gates.
People can avail facilities of mobile toilets at Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall field, TSC, Doel Chat-tar and Curzon Hall areas.
In a bid to ensure security, several CCTV cameras and archways will be installed.
This year, 28 ethnic groups, various government and private educational institutions, socio-cultural organizations and guests from different countries are expected to join the procession.
