The government has appointed former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Moinul Islam as Bangladesh Ambassador to Poland suspending his post-retirement leave (PRL) with benefits.
A gazette notification was issued today by the Ministry of Public Administration in this regard.
According to the notification, Moinul Islam has been appointed ambassador for two years starting on 10 April 2025 on condition of severing all relations with any other profession, business, or employment with government, semi-government or private organization.
Moinul Islam was appointed as IGP on the night of 6 August, a day after the fall of the Awami League government following a mass student-people uprising.
On 20 November, he was removed from the post, and the government appointed retired police officer Baharul Alam as IGP.
