The death toll from the deadly road accident at Lohagara upazila in Chattogran rose to 11 after a woman died from her injuries on Friday while under treatment.
The deceased Taslima Islam Prema breathed her last around 12:00 pm while undergoing treatment at the ICU of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Brig. Gen Md Taslim Uddin, director of the hospital.
On Wednesday morning, a bus and two microbuses collided on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chunti area of Lohagara upazila, leaving seven people killed on the spot and seven to eight more injured.
Four of the injured were shifted to the CMCH from Lohagara due to critical condition while two succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment on that day.
Today another died and another is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
All the deceased were passengers of the microbuses which were heading towards Cox’s Bazar from Kishoreganj.
Earlier on 31 March, five people were killed and six others injured in a deadly road accident in Chunti area.
Within a span of three days, two fatal road accidents occurred in the same area, claiming 15 lives so far.
