Staff Reporter:
Metro rail services will be suspended on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr. However, services will resume as usual the following day.
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), responsible for the construction and operation of the metro in Dhaka, shared this information on its verified Facebook page on Saturday.
Earlier this month, the authorities announced a new timetable for the metro during the holy month of Ramadan. For the first 15 days, there were no changes to the schedule, but for the final 15 days, the operating hours for trains in both directions were extended by one hour.
The metro authorities have stated that during the last 15 days of Ramadan, the last train from Motijheel will depart at 9:40pm, and from Uttara, the final train will leave at 9pm.
Metro rail services were also suspended on the day of Eid-ul-Azha last year.
