Chief Adviser Prof Mohammed Yunus has sent letters to the Deputy Commissioners (DCs), urging them to ensure hassle and corruption-free civic services, particularly in birth certificate registration, national ID issuance and land mutation and registration.
The chief adviser, currently on a state visit to China, issued the directive on Friday, and the cabinet division sent the letter to all DCs nationwide for immediate enforcement.
In the letters, the chief adviser urged the DCs to discharge their duties upholding their true professionalism for stopping price spiral during the Ramadan and keeping law and order under control.
He asked the authorities concerned to issue passports without police verification reports and the erase incoherence between offices and directorates.
The DCs have also been instructed to adhere to their respective regulations while performing their duties and to carry out their roles going beyond all intimidation, lobbying and flattery.
The letter further said that the government is closely monitoring activities of the DCs.
