Manikganj: Police recovered the bodies of three women from separate locations in Manikganj Sadar Upazila within 24 hours.
The bodies were recovered from different areas of Garpara, Bhararia, and Atigram unions between Fri-day evening and Saturday evening.
SM Aman Ullah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, said, “The bodies have been sent to Manikganj Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Legal proceedings are underway.”
According to the police, the body of a girl, Tanima Akter (16), was found hanging with a scarf in Rana-dia area of Garpara Union on Saturday noon. Tanima was the daughter of Md. Rafiq Mia from Ranadia, Garpara.
In another incident, the body of a housewife, Afsana Akter (16), was found hanging in Saturia area of Atigram Union. Afsana was the wife of Rezaul Haque from Aricha in Shibalaya, Manikganj.
Police also recovered an unidentified woman’s floating body from the Kaliganga River in Pashchim Shanbanda area of Sadar Upazila.
OC Aman Ullah said that efforts are being made to identify the unknown woman.
