Bus-CNG autorickshaw collision leaves 5 dead in Pabna

Five people, including a child, were killed and two others injured when a bus hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on the Ishwardi-Dashuria Highway in Pabna’s Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The bus crashed into the CNG-run autorickshaw around 5:30 pm in front of Baharpur Mallika Agro Food, leaving four passengers of the CNG-run autorickshaw dead on the spot and three others injured, said Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station.

Of the injured, one died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. The remaining two were in critical condition.

Police seized the bus but the driver and helper managed to flee.
