Law Adviser Asif Nazrul on Thursday said trial for Magura rape case will begin within seven days, and signalled the verdict would likely be delivered within two weeks.
History has examples where rape case trials were completed within seven-eight days of starting, he told reporters at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
There are high possibilities judges can deliver verdict in the Magura rape case swiftly due to the abundance of evidences.
Special measures have been taken to procure the post-mortem report on Thursday, the day the victim died. DNA report can hopefully be obtained within five days as required samples have already been collected. About 12-13 individuals have given statements in the case, the law adviser noted.
