A Meherpur court on Thursday placed Farhad Hossain, former public administration minister, on a two-day remand.
Meherpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Sharmin Nahar passed the order when police produced Farhad, also president of Meherpur district unit of Awami League (AL), before the court.
Earlier on Wednesday night, police took the AL leader to Meherpur jail.
He was also shown arrested in two cases filed for attacking students during the anti-discrimination movement.
A number of cases have been filed against Farhad in Dhaka and Meherpur districts after the fall of the AL-led government on 5 August.
Police arrested Farhad from Dhaka’s Eskaton area on 14 September last year.
