Nation waiting for a fair poll: Tarique

A Correspondent:
Jhenaidah: Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tarique Rahman said the entire nation is waiting for a fair and acceptable election.
He also urged the leaders and workers of his party to work devotedly to gain the public trust to win over the people’s heart in that election.
Tarique Rahman was addressing virtually a workshop from London on party’s 31-point reform agenda at a local auditorium in Jhenaidah district.
“We are waiting for a fair and acceptable election. The people are earnestly waiting to bring BNP to power,” he said adding that “If we want to go to the power through the next polls, our leaders and workers have to devote them to gain public trust.”
Leaders and workers of the BNP and its front and associates bodies from Narail, Jashore and Jhenaidah districts attended the workshop.
Tarique Rahman warned the party leaders that the journey toward the next election might be very tough. The path will not be so smooth, he said.
He urged the partymen to reach out the 31-point reform agenda to people saying as the charter has been made by BNP for welfare of the people.
The true development of the country will be taken place if we can implement the 31-point reform proposal, he said.
Reminding all about the conspiracies being hatched at home and abroad against the BNP, he called upon all to remain alert.
“It will not possible to defeat the BNP by hatching conspiracies as it’s the party of the people,” he said.
Tarique called upon his party leaders and workers to correct themselves to gain confidence of the people.
