The country’s largest single-roof exhibition tent, Expo Village, has begun its journey with Bangladesh Buildcon International Expo at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.
ICCB Chief Operating Officer MM Jasim Uddin along with ASK Trade Show Managing Director Bhuiyan Tipu Sultan Sultan and Mohammad Abu Sadeque, executive director at Centre for Housing and Building Research (HBRC), inaugurated the tent on Thursday.
ICCB Head of Accounts and Finance Monirul Islam Palash and Kazi Rokon Uddin, AGM of brand and marketing at Bashundhara Group Director’s secretariat, were present on the occasion.
Addressing the programme, MM Jasim Uddin said ICCB has completed glorious ten years of operations this year, while 44 expos have already been scheduled for 2025.
“We initially began ICCB to support weddings, seminars and symposiums. However, the largest expo area in the country became a signature venue for large-scale activities including expositions and other big happenings over the years,” he said.
The ICCB chief operating officer expressed his gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Vice-chairman Shafiat Sobhan for extending their support for developing the mega infrastructure.
The fully air-conditioned multipurpose venue adds 1.34 lakh square feet of space to ICCB and is capable of hosting a variety of events, from small social gatherings to large-scale functions.
Expo Village, open year-round, offers state-of-the-art facilities, including parking for over 1,000 cars, transport options, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and stringent security measures. It can accommodate over 10,000 attendees under a single roof.
Expo Village is hosting the Buildcon, an international exhibitions combo focusing on building and construction, wood & woodworking and electrical products.
ASK Trade and Exhibitions and Futurex Trade Fair jointly organised the 8th edition of the Bangladesh Buildcon International Expo.
