A total of 14 constables undergoing basic training at the Tangail Police Training Centre at Mahera in Tangail have been relieved of their services on charges of breaching discipline.
The order was issued by the additional DIG of the training centre on Thursday.
According to the decision, “Due to disciplinary violations, they are hereby permanently dismissed from training, effective from the afternoon of 2 January.”
It is reported that the relieved constables left the training centre the same evening and headed to their respective destinations.
On 24 June this year, the 54th batch of basic police training, comprising 793 recruits, began their six-month training at Mahera Police Training Centre in Tangail.
Six trainees were previously removed due to illness, leaving 787 officers in training.
The final passing-out parade was scheduled for 19 December 2024 but was postponed to 12 January 2025.
